This is the website launch checklist we run before any client site goes live. Most launch-day problems come from small things nobody thought to check, so we check them all, every time.
Content and contact
- Phone and WhatsApp. Tap every call and WhatsApp button on a real phone. Does it dial the right number? Does WhatsApp open with a sensible message?
- Forms. Send a test enquiry from every form. Does it arrive by email and WhatsApp? Does the visitor see a thank-you message?
- Business details. Name, address, phone and hours match the Google Business Profile exactly.
- Spelling and prices. One last read of every page, with special attention to prices and numbers.
Technical
- HTTPS. The site loads on https, and http and www versions redirect to one address.
- Redirects. If this replaces an old site, every old address redirects to its new page in one step.
- Speed. The main content appears quickly on a mid-range Android phone on mobile data.
- No blocked pages. No page that should be found is set to noindex, and robots.txt is not blocking anything important.
Search engines
- Search Console and Bing. Both verified, in the client's own account.
- Sitemap. Submitted, with only real pages in it.
- Structured data. Business details tested in Google's tools without errors.
Handover
- Logins. Domain, hosting, website, analytics and Search Console logins are all in the client's name, with a written list.
After launch
The first two weeks
We check Search Console every few days for crawl errors and watch whether pages are being indexed.
The first 90 days
Launching is the start, not the end. Our launch and promotion plan covers what to do in the first three months so the new site actually gets visitors.
